In short: Alora Events designs three complete evenings for visitors to Cape Town: the Sunset Proposal (starting from R8,900), the Villa Arrival (starting from R4,500) and the Golden Hour Picnic (starting from R5,900). Each includes the styling, flowers, candles, set-up before you arrive, clean-up after, and a weather backup. You build yours on the website, Shanel replies within four hours with the design, and half by bank transfer holds the date.

You're in Cape Town for ten days. One of those evenings should be the one you talk about for years. These are the three we've designed for exactly that, each a complete evening with nothing for you to carry, hire or explain to anyone.

The Sunset Proposal

You round the corner of the terrace and the candles are already lit. Lion's Head is going copper behind the petals. Nobody else is here. She hasn't noticed yet.

Set on a villa terrace, a sheltered beach cove or a rooftop, at golden hour. We take care of:

  • The styled setting: florals, 40 LED candles, lanterns, rug and cushions, a petal path
  • "Marry me" letters or a floral sign, your choice
  • Alcohol-free bubbles and two glasses on site, with the real bottle styled at your villa for afterwards
  • The choice of setting from three that work, with the rules handled
  • The decoy plan and timing on WhatsApp, set up before you arrive, gone before your partner sees us
  • A weather backup agreed the day before, moved at no cost
  • Clean-up after you leave, every petal
  • Photos of the finished setup sent to you

Starting price R8,900 (about $540, €480, £405). Add a photographer for the first hour, a dinner table for two afterwards, a bouquet to keep, a cake, or a short film of the moment.

The Villa Arrival

Twelve hours in the air, a taxi up the coast road, and the villa door opens on a path of petals, candlelight and a note in your own handwriting. The trip starts right there.

For honeymoons and anniversaries, in villas, Airbnbs and guest houses, set up before you walk in. We take care of:

  • Rose petals on the bed and a petal path from the door
  • 30 LED candles, real flame where the host allows it
  • A fresh seasonal bouquet in a vase you keep
  • A balloon cluster with your message
  • A handwritten note in your words
  • An ice bucket and two glasses styled for the bottle
  • Access arranged with your host, collection the next day
  • A photo of the finished room sent to you before you arrive

The Golden Hour Picnic

A low table on the sand of a sheltered cove, linen and flowers and a board of good things, set exactly where the sun will drop. You sit down. It's the best hour of the day and it's yours.

On a sheltered beach cove, a villa lawn or a Winelands garden that allows it. We take care of:

  • A low table, linen, cushions, rugs and a shade umbrella
  • Fresh flowers and candles, LED where flames aren't allowed
  • A grazing board for two from a Cape Town deli
  • Alcohol-free bubbles on the beach, wine at your villa or a venue that allows it
  • Timing for the hour before sunset
  • A weather backup agreed the day before
  • Set-up before you arrive, pack-down after you leave, nothing left on the sand
  • Photos of the setup sent to you

Starting price R5,900 (about $360, €320, £270).

How you build yours

  1. On the visitor page, pick the moment, your date, where you're staying and anything you'd like to add, with a note for Shanel.
  2. Shanel replies within four hours, 8am to 10pm Cape Town time, with the design and what it costs.
  3. You say yes and hold the date with half by bank transfer. The balance is due seven days before.
  4. We arrange access with your villa manager, host or concierge.
  5. You walk into it finished.

Prices are starting prices; the final price depends on what you add and is confirmed with you before you pay. Cancel 21 days or more before and the deposit comes back minus R750; inside 21 days you can move the date once, free, within 12 months. If the weather turns, we move to the backup or a new date at no cost.
