Part 4 of 4 in our guide for visitors. New here? Start with the overview.
In short: The Villa Arrival is Alora Events' honeymoon and anniversary setup for couples staying in villas and Airbnbs across Cape Town and the Winelands. Petals, LED candles, a fresh bouquet, a balloon cluster, a handwritten note and a styled ice bucket are set up before you walk in, with access arranged through your host. Starting price R4,500 (about $275, €245, £205), booked from overseas with a bank transfer deposit.
The flight was long. The coast road was beautiful. And then the door opens on a path of petals, candlelight across the bed, flowers on the table and a note in your own words. Nobody carried a thing. The honeymoon just started.
What we take care of
- Rose petals on the bed and a petal path from the door
- 30 LED candles, real flame where the host allows it
- A fresh seasonal bouquet in a vase you keep
- A balloon cluster with "Just married", "Happy anniversary" or your own message
- A handwritten note in your words
- An ice bucket and two glasses styled for the bottle your host or we arrange
- Access arranged with your host, set-up while you're in the air or out for the day, collection the next day
- A photo of the finished room sent to you before you arrive
Make it a whole evening
- A terrace dinner table for two with linen, florals and candlelight, starting from R2,800
- A memory wall of 20 of your photos, printed and hung, from R1,400
- Bath and turndown while you're at dinner, from R950
- A cake for two from a Cape Town baker, from R850
- A photographer for the first hour of the evening, from R3,500
How access works
- You book and tell us where: the villa name or Airbnb listing, your check-in time or the window when you'll be out.
- We contact the host or villa manager, agree a set-up time and confirm their rules on candles and balloons.
- We style and step out, about an hour, and send you a photo of the finished room.
- We collect the next day at a time that suits you. The flowers and the note stay with you.
When in the trip to book it
- First night: the arrival after a long flight becomes the moment you remember. Most overnight flights from Europe land in the morning, so a mid-afternoon check-in is ideal.
- Last night: turns packing day into an occasion, especially if your trip starts with a safari or the Garden Route and ends in Cape Town.
- The anniversary date itself: we set up while you're at dinner and you walk back into it.
Cape Town is UTC+2 all year. Send us your full itinerary and we plan around late arrivals.
Hotels
Villas and Airbnbs are the natural home for this. Hotels vary: some allow outside stylists in guest rooms and some only allow their own team. Tell us the hotel before you pay and we'll check with them first.
